Job Summary
The Production Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of co-manufacturing contracts for the company. This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, drafting, and executing contracts with co-manufacturers, ensuring that all parties adhere to the agreed-upon terms and conditions.
This position requires a strong understanding of contract law, supply chain management, and effective communication skills to foster successful partnerships.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads negotiation of contract terms, including production volumes, pricing, quality standards, delivery schedules, and other relevant clauses to safeguard the interests of the company.
- Prepare comprehensive and legally binding contracts that clearly outline the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of both parties involved in the co-manufacturing arrangement. Ensure that contracts comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Review and analyze co-manufacturing contracts received from external manufacturers and make necessary recommendations to management for approval or modification.
- Work closely with the sourcing and procurement teams to identify potential co-manufacturing partners based on their capabilities, capacity, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.
- Regularly track and evaluate the performance of co-manufacturing partners, measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as product quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. Manage profit & loss for all contract manufacturers.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction in the co-manufacturing process, fostering continuous improvement initiatives with manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, quality assurance, logistics, finance, and legal teams, to ensure seamless execution of co-manufacturing contracts.
- Mediate and resolve any disputes or conflicts that may arise during the co-manufacturing process. Work to find mutually beneficial solutions that align with both parties' interests.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, negotiations, supply chain management, or vendor management, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer goods industry. Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing facilities
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to create clear and comprehensive contractual agreements.
