When Giannis and I met for the first time in Milwaukee, two things struck me that would be quite telling about our future together. First, he came in with a notebook and a list of questions about my vision for the company, our products and what makes us different from other companies. He came prepared – Loved it. Secondly, he showed me he was coachable – a trait often times missing when someone reaches what they feel is a level of accomplishment.
I feel there is always an opportunity to bring one unique piece of information to a meeting that provides the chance to get better. When I told Giannis that his field goal percentage was 9% higher when he dunked the ball vs. when he shot a finger roll his response was “Really – no one ever told me that before. I’ve got to change that right away.” Any coach, business leader or person leading an organization knows they can win with talented people, who work hard and are coachable. This is Giannis and this is the Ready Mentality.
The fact Giannis has been using Ready products prior to his MVP season, he is able to provide great feedback and creativity for future product development. Together, along with Aaron and the rest of the Team, we’re excited about the opportunity to work hard and make our products available to athletes all around the globe.
